Orange, peach and copper DMC floss colors
FlossChart's DMC table has 37 orange, peach and copper colors. This page lists all of them with the DMC number, the name and an approximate screen color, from the lightest (DMC 948, Peach Very Light) to the darkest (DMC 918, Red Copper Dark).
How the list is made: a color is on this page when its DMC name contains one of these words: "orange", "tangerine", "pumpkin", "apricot", "peach", "copper", "terra", "spice", "autumn". Names are what DMC calls the color, so a few colors show up in two families (for example a "Blue Green" is on the green page and the blue page). Lightness is measured as CIELAB L*, the same color math the FlossChart converter uses.
The biggest orange, peach and copper color groups
Many DMC colors come in runs of one name from very light to very dark. In this family the biggest runs are: Terra Cotta (7), Apricot (4), Autumn Gold (4), Burnt Orange (4), Copper (3). The Terra Cotta run, light to dark, is: Terra Cotta Ultra Very Light (3771), Terra Cotta Very Light (758), Terra Cotta Light (3778), Terra Cotta Medium (356), Terra Cotta (3830), Terra Cotta Dark (355), Terra Cotta Very Dark (3777).
The closest look-alikes in this family, by the same color difference: DMC 3824 and DMC 754 (difference 2,3); DMC 353 and DMC 967 (difference 3,3); DMC 353 and DMC 754 (difference 4,4). On screen these are hard to tell apart, so check the real thread before you swap one for another.
